Schuylkill River Park Community Garden

Obtaining a Plot

If you are a bona fide resident of the Center City Residents' Association area, the area encompassed by the North side of South Street, the West side of Broad Street, the South side of John F. Kennedy Boulevard and the Schuylkill River in the City of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, you may obtain a plot in the SRPCG through one of two ways:

  1. Plots are reserved for CCRA resident members, and are leased annually for up to six years. At the end of six years, a gardener gives up his/her plot, and may return to the waiting list, if they so desire. To join the waiting list, please send an email with your name, address and phone number to CCRA at centercity@centercityresidents.org . Once your membership is processed, ask to be placed on the “garden waiting list.” You must remain a CCRA member while you are on the waiting list, and while you are leasing a plot in the garden. Lapses in membership will result in removal from the list, or loss of your plot.
  2. Five plots are reserved for non-members of CCRA and these are awarded by lottery each March for a one year term. If you are a resident of the CCRA area but not a member of CCRA and would like to obtain a non-member plot, please send an email with your name, address, phone number, and your desire to enter the SRPCG plot lottery to:
    centercity@centercityresidents.org.

The waiting list may be inspected at any time on the Garden's Bulletin Board (to protect confidentiality, initials are posted rather than full names).

Waiting list members are offered the opportunity to plant tomatoes in our tomato trials and to assist with the ParksidePlantings (contingent upon space availability). For more information on these opportunities, please contact the garden Steering Committee.
